Double page spread for Hype magazine

For my double page spread I used an original image as my background and re sized it so it fit the whole double page spread. Because of the dark image I decided to use a suitable light colour text to make it stand out. Also as my model has red/pink hair I decided to use a light pink colour to match it and make it unique to the story. I have used boxes to organise my interview, to make them stand out against the background. I organised the text around the models face, having the standfirst at the top followed by the interview. Then inbetween the two blocks of text I had a pull quote from interview. Then at the bottom of the page i have the Hype masthead, to keep a housestyle.

This is my contents page of the magazine. I have used different coloured boxes to organise the regulars and features. The images are stories featured in the magazine. The masthead is across the top it is on each of the pages of the magazine to keep a house style. I had image of the model cropped from the front page to make her story stand out.

This is my front cover for my masthead, I have used a meduim shot of a model going across the page. On top of the image I have the stories I'm going to feature in the magazine. The background is a lighter coliur to draw attention to the image. The colours seem quite feminine, most of my target readers are females. Also around the hype masthead I changed the colour to red to match the models hair this is unique to this issue of the magazine. There is only one other image on the front cover and that is one feature inside the magazine, which is a special competition which could draw the potential customer to buy it.

How I intend to maintain a house style:

Fun positive images throughout, bright colours to keep the magazine looking happy and fun to read. The colours will all be relatively the same.

Format of my contents page:

Single page for the contents, features and regulars divided by different columns. Images will be arranged at the bottom with page number overlapping them. Main picture at the top bigger than the rest.

My DPS Theme:

My dps is an interview with a famous artist. The pictures will be used from a photo-shoot with a white background, Looking professional. They are of the famous artist. The main bit of text will be on the first page with a simple layout divided by lines, and then the main image will take up ¾ of the second page.

Work Needed To Finish	Making the masthead look more professional, some more editing needs to be done in Photoshop.	Need to put text on there (the cover stories) and banners across the bottom and top.	Need to add a few more images and text. Putting on the features and regulars on there.	Finish editing the interview for dps, and editing the pictures to make them suitable.	Need to add the main pictures and by lines, pull quotes. Then need to add text.
